We can all learn from Leo. Still.

What a DM Idea! (DM, as in Digital Media.)

by AKC Marketing

We can all learn from Leo. Still.

Leo Burnett is an American advertising icon and founder of Leo Burnett Company, Inc., aka Leo Burnett Worldwide.

Three of Leo’s big little ideas:

Big black pencils …

are something Leo Burnett Company is famous for, the idea being "big ideas come from big pencils.”

Apples …

have become a symbol for the company ever since Mr. Burnett put a bowl of apples at reception when he opened in the middle of the Great Depression (a risky time for a new business). People said it wouldn’t be long before Leo would be selling apples on the street. Apples continue to be a symbol of Burnett's hospitality and success.

Stars …

are another symbol of the company, Leo’s philosophy being, "when you reach for the stars you may not get one, but you won't come up with a handful of mud, either."

At AKC Marketing we say, “Think big. Market bigger.®” And we mean it.  Bring us your little ideas and watch them grow!

Leo Burnett (October 21, 1891 - June 7, 1971) was responsible for creating some of advertising's most well-known characters and campaigns of the 20th century including Tony the Tiger, Charlie the Tuna, the Marlboro Man, the Maytag Repairman, United's "Fly the Friendly Skies," Allstate's "Good Hands," and for garnering relationships with multinational clients McDonald's, Hallmark and Coca-Cola. In 1999, Burnett was named by Time Magazine, “One of the 100 most influential people of the 20th century.”
